Memorial Day Weekend Fun

Nothing like a great start to Memorial Day Wkend! Having a house now means lots of hours logged at the backyard water table and baby pool... It's great being able to sit outside and cook food, hang out and Kayla has the opportunity to play. I would love to have a fenced in back yard - just to keep the monkey from exploring around the house when we want to relax ... but we do get to chill abit more at home than at the town pool.

1st Time at the Pool

After we paid for Kayla to take swimming lessons I knew she was going to be a water bug this year at the town pool! She loved sitting, running and pouring water everywhere! I know I won't be going to the pool to relax at all this year!

Enjoying a little snack!

Our Yankee Princess

Kayla actually went to her "first" Yankee game 2 yrs ago but when we were not able to sell the tickets Brian & his brothers had for yesterday's mid-week day game, Brian suggested we do a trial run with Kayla. I have to say that I was VERY nervous but figured that it would be a good test... Since it would not be as crowded as a night or wkend game.

She slept in the car on the way to pick Brian up from work and woke up the moment we pulled into the stadium parking garage. She loved it! She was really well behaved - considering she is only 20 months old. She was not a fan of the cotton candy but LOVED the ice cream, chix nuggets & the people around us. It really was one of my most favorite times with Kayla and Brian so far... it was such a great memory!

All set to hit up the stadium!

Mother's Day Weekend

Mother's Day is always so special to me b/c it's the one job I knew I always wanted... at times these days I wonder why I wanted it so badly... but it's nice to have a day that we Mommy's get to celebrate just being a mom! I really had not celebrated the holiday for many years since my mom & I had a falling out... but now more than ever I think of her every Mother's Day and wonder how things would be if she were here and knew she had this beautiful granddaughter!

This year we went to brunch with the Wilson clan to celebrate with Kayla's grandma... then for dinner we had intentions to hit up Jose Tejas (one of my favorite places on earth) but the wait was SOOO long that we settled for Houlihans (right next door).

Kayla decided to have the pancakes!

This portable DVD player is seriously an essential for
anyone who dines out alot with a very active toddler!

Our cheesey smiles!

All topped off with some "milk juice" -

this is what Kayla calls a Milk Shake!

First few weeks in the new House

The move into our new house was a success... although the bad news keeps rolling in! Guess those are the trials & tribulations of home ownership! We stayed with Brian's folks for the 1st week while we ripped up rugs and had them replaced... we painted the bedrooms and had tons of work done... now we are all moved in and getting to unpacking!

Having a little snack during our hard work!

Little Miss Nosey... wanting to help!

Checking out our brandy new fridge!

First time playing outside... all these toys!

Kayla LOVES the new bathtub!
